Well, it looks like I haven’t posted anything in two years (Originally, my goal was to have a monthly blog post. That quickly didn’t happen). But here we are. I’ve been working simultaneously on these TWO bodies of work. In my mind they would make up the show “Michael Lorefice: Two Person Show”. They are the two sides of my brain- one is the spiritual, natural, dreamer and sublime; the other is the rational, pessimistic, astute observer of our culture. Somehow, they work well together.
I just started these larger drawings - they measure about five feet on the longest dimension- and they’ve been fun to dive into. I started this body of drawings over ten years ago and it has been interesting to see old ideas rise back to the surface and combine with new thoughts and techniques.
